Childcare Services
Occasional Childcare
The casual childcare service provides quality childcare for children up to twelve years old, in a fun, educational and safe environment.
This licensed facility is open:
- Monday: 9am-12, 1-4pm & 5-9pm
- Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: 9am-4pm, lunch hour included & 5-9pm
- Friday: 9am-12 & 1-4pm
Reservations for childcare can be made up to one week in advance. Please contact the MFRC for rates and bookings.
Costs
$3.00 per hour for the first child and $.50 per hour for each additional child per family tup to a maximum of $4.00 per hour.

Emergency Childcare
Emergency Childcare Service are available to CF families during a work related or medical emergency when the family does not have sufficient time to implement their personal childcare plan. Please contact our Children's Services Coordinator, Dana Thompson at (204) 765-3000 Ext. 4105 for more information.
Day Care
The MFRC Day Care is a provincially licensed, government subsidized facility. It offers programs for infants, preschoolers, and school agedchildren as well as for children with special needs. Hot lunch and snacks are included in day care fees. All programs provide educational opportunities and are staffed by qualified day care workers. Please contact our Day Care Director, Andrea Doubleday at (204) 765-3000 Ext. 3351 or our Day Care Supervisor, Irene Thomas at (204) 765-2469 for more information.
Day Care Availability
- 8 Infant Spaces - age range from 3 months to 24 months
- 48 Pre-School Spaces - age range from 2 years to 5 years
- 25 School Age Spaces - age range from 6 years to 12 years
Day Care Fees
Infant
- $27.50 for four hours of attendance
- $14.00 for less than four hours of attendance
Pre School
- $18.30 for four hours of attendance
- $ 9.40 for less than four hours of attendance
School Age
- $5.85 for one session
- $9.10 for two or more sessions
- $18.30 for full day of care
Day Care Hours
The MFRC Day Care hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm but is closed on all statutory holidays.
