Adult Deployment Services

Deployment Information Packages

Packages consist of pamphlets outlining programs and important contact information, set out by the MFRC and the Department of National Defence.

Mail/Internet Services

  • Parcel packaging supplies are available in the Community Lounge, and mail overseas can be dropped off at no charge.
  • Computers with internet access are available for public use.

Workshops/Support Programs

Monthly Deployment Activities

  • Activities specifically designed for those going through a deployment.
  • Programs are designed for all family types, including those with or without children.
  • Childcare is provided during deployment activities that do not include children.

Cycles of Deployment

  • Overview of the various emotional stages that you might go through.
  • Includes: Pre-deployment, During deployment and Post deployment stages.
  • Learn about the effects of deployment/separation on adults and children.

Deployment Childcare

  • Up to 6 hours of childcare per month at no cost.
  • Please contact the MFRC for full details on this program.

Spouses of Spouses Away (SOSA)

  • A support group for women and men whose spouses are away.
  • Discussion topics may include emotional and physical effects on spouses left at home, and coping mechanisms during the various cycles of deployment.
  • Provides an opportunity for continual support and information.

Warm Line Program

  • A peer support program which keeps spouses connected with the community through our various programs and services.
  • Spouses are contacted by MFRC staff/volunteers and given updates on available programs.
  • This service is completely confidential, and also gives spouses an opportunity to address questions or concerns.

Children’s Deployment Services

School Aged Monthly Deployment Activity

  • Monthly themed activities aimed at children ages 5-12.
  • Will include movies, crafts, and games and an atmosphere where children can hang out with others going through a deployment (Program may not be available in the summer).

Please Note: Deployment Programs will not be cancelled however if registration is low, another program/activity might be offered. For example: A potluck might turn into a dinner at a restaurant if only one family registers.
